Our story.
Maritime pilotage is one of the most safety-critical operations in the world. Every day, marine pilots board vessels in open water, navigate them through complex port approaches, and coordinate with tugs, vessel traffic, and port authorities in real time.
Yet the tools they rely on have barely changed in decades. Scheduling in spreadsheets. Passage plans in PDFs. Updates over phone calls and VHF radio. Critical information fragmented across systems that do not talk to each other.

Master Mariner. Marine Pilot. 20+ years on the bridge, 12 years boarding vessels in every condition imaginable. Henry did not set out to build a software company. He set out to fix a problem he lived every single day: maritime operations run on fragmented tools, paper processes, and workarounds that put safety and efficiency at risk.
After two decades of piloting vessels into some of the most challenging ports, Henry knew exactly what the industry needed. Not another tool. A connected platform built by someone who understands what happens on the bridge, at the dispatch desk, and in the regulator’s office. Smart Ocean X is the system he wished existed.
